Alfalfa Leaf (Medicago sativa) is traditionally regarded as a nourishing, mineral-rich herb and is generally well tolerated when used appropriately. However, certain populations should exercise caution.

Use Caution If:

• You are pregnant or breastfeeding
• You are taking blood-thinning medications (Alfalfa contains naturally occurring vitamin K)

Not Recommended For:

• Individuals with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) without provider oversight
• Those on strict vitamin K–restricted protocols unless cleared by their healthcare provider

Possible Reactions

Alfalfa Leaf is typically gentle. In rare cases, excessive intake may cause:

• Mild digestive upset
• Bloating
• Loose stools when taken in large quantities

1 tablespoon dried alfalfa leaf
8–10 oz hot water
Steep 20–30 minutes (covered)
